I've decided to take this course to help my writing skills and because I don't like college prep English. I'm excited to break away from textbooks and tedious workbook questions that you barely have to glance at the text to answer. I'm not excited for the workload I'm sure to be facing or the amount of reading that is required. Don't get me wrong, I like to read, but in my experience the books that are assigned in class are usually boring. I'm a little worried about the beginning of the school year because I'm not a quick writer and essays are definitely one of my weakest points in school. I'm hoping that I can learn quick enough to keep my grade up. My main goal for this course is to improve my writing skills, as I previously stated, and to quicken the pace at which I write. I expect this class to help me focus so I can get assignments done quicker and teach me about the broad scope of literature.
